چکیده

1130 NOTICES OF THE AMS VOLUME 45, NUMBER 9 T he subject matter of this essay is Alberto Calderón’s pivotal role in the creation of the modern theory of singular integrals. In that great enterprise Calderón had the good fortune of working with Antoni Zygmund, who was at first his teacher and mentor and later his collaborator. For that reason any account of that theory has to be in part the story of the efforts of both Zygmund and Calderón. With this in mind, I shall explain the various goals that motivated them, describe some of their shared accomplishments and later work of Calderón, and discuss briefly the wide influence of their achievements.

Singular Integrals on Hilbert Space

exists as a bounded operator on L(H) as ô tends to zero and p tends to infinity. A theorem of this type extends the Calderon-Zygmund theory of singular integral operators on En to infinite dimensions. For if fc(#)||x||-" is a Calderon-Zygmund kernel and if £ is a bounded Borel set which is disjoint from a neighborhood of the origin then v{E) =fEk(x)\\x\\~ dx satisfies v(tE) = v(E) for £>0; if g...

Feynman integral for functional Schrödinger equations

We consider functional Schrödinger equations associated with a wide class of Hamiltonians in all Fock representations of the bosonic canonical commutation relations, in particular the Cook-Fock, Friedrichs-Fock, and Bargmann-Fock models. An infinite-dimensional symbolic calculus allows to prove the convergence of the corresponding Hamiltonian Feynman integrals for propagators of coherent states...

On the Classification of Homogeneous Multipliers Bounded on 77'(r2)

Necessary and sufficient conditions for Calderon-Zygmund singular integral operators to be bounded operators on //' (R2) are investigated. Let m be a bounded measurable function on the circle, extended to R2 by homogeneity (m(rx) = m(x)). If the Calderon-Zygmund singular integral operator Tm , defined by Tmf = y_1C"^"(/)), is bounded on //'(R2), then it is proved that S'm has bounded variation ...

Continuity for some multilinear operators of integral operators on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces

The continuity for some multilinear operators related to certain fractional singular integral operators on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces is obtained. The operators include Calderon-Zygmund singular integral operator and fractional integral operator. 1. Introduction. Let T be a Calderon-Zygmund singular integral operator; a well-known result of Coifman et al. (see [6]) states that the commutator [b, T...

Pseudo-localization of Singular Integrals and Noncommutative Calderón-zygmund Theory

After the pioneer work of Calderón and Zygmund in the 50’s, the systematic study of singular integrals has become a corner stone in harmonic analysis with deep implications in mathematical physics, partial differential equations and other mathematical disciplines. Subsequent generalizations of Calderón-Zygmund theory have essentially pursued two lines. We may either consider more general domain...
